☞ SEE: Inside the Grey Gardens Festival

Harlem Bespoke dropped in to STAUNCH!: The Ultimate Grey Gardens Festival this past Saturday and has the inside scoop on what all the hoopla was about. The warm-up party downstairs had everyone excited over the recreated, dilapilated rooms of the Beale ladies, with a live deejay and a bar to get things going. Hipsters, gays, old friends, book signings, a stuffed cat and Albert Maysles on a couch greeted guests and added to the eclectic atmosphere. Everyone then headed upstairs to the theater to catch never-before-seen clips of Grey Gardens along with a racy burlesque cabaret. The fourth photo down shows some of the staged antics from Little Edie's avatar for the night, looked on by the evening's host, the inimitable Linda Simpson. If you missed out on the fun, don't worry. The Maysles Cinema will have a special event for Gay Pride week with Michael Henry Adams as a guest speaker that promises to be just as fun and illuminating. Stay tuned for more updates, or go to the Maysles Cinema website to see the full schedule: LINK. 343 Malcolm X Blvd/Lenox Avenue bet. 127th and 128th Streets. Tel. 212-582-6050.
