The New York Daily News breaks down the highs and lows of the Harlem housing market today and features a few affordable options that are in line with what buyers want now. Basically prices went up astronomically 3 years ago and everything crashed in 2009. Developers are now working with new luxury style constructions in price ranges that are considered affordable. Buyers themselves are no longer looking for a quick flip. Buildings featured in the article with affordable 1 bedroom starter apartments priced around the $300K range include South Harlem's 88 Morningside and East Harlem's Embelesar118. The Central Harlem rental buildings at Riverton Square are also mentioned as the Stuyvesant Town of Harlem with prices that are around $1,270 a month for a one bedroom apartment.
