☞ REVIVE: 525 West 133rd Street Finishes Up

A reader pointed out to a new 8-story development at 525 West 133rd Street that looks about completed (top photo). The new construction between Amsterdam and Broadway in West Harlem is on the north side of the Street and faces a large block of housing projects to the south. This is technically Manhattanville but further east than the new Columbia campus and we somehow missed the construction in the past year. When seeing the nearly finished building, we couldn't help noticing that it reminded us of a building that's up just two blocks at 519 West 135th Street in Hamilton Height's former Vinegar Hill. The penthouse glass arched roof looks kind of late 80's or early 90's to us and it seems a bit of a revival is at hand. Anyone know any details on either buildings?

  1. The one on W. 133rd appears to be a rental building:

and has its own Facebook page:

  2. We just moved in, and this building is awesome! There is a garden in the back with a large water feature, and lounge chairs, plus plenty of gorgeous plants and flowers. There's a rooftop deck with herbs and berries growing, trees and bench seating. outlets are available for our electric BBQ. The apartments are clean and spacious, hardwood floors and stainless appliances. Most are 2 bedroom 2 bath, all have balconies. The super takes wonderful care of the building, it's cleaned and recycling taken out daily. There's a gym in the basement, laundry, storage and a bike room. They've just planted large trees right out front, and we are just a couple blocks from Fairway! We love it here!!
