☞ LISTEN: Gay Bishop to Speak at Riverside

On Sunday, November 21st at 10:45 AM, Riverside Church. The Riverside Church debuts its Distinguished Preacher series with the first openly gay Episcopal Bishop the Right Reverend V. Gene Robinson as the series' premier speaker.

Bishop Robinson has been active particularly in the area of full civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans-gender people. Working at the state, national and international levels, he has spoken and lobbied for equal protection under the law and full civil marriage rights. His story was featured in the 2007 feature-length documentary, “For the Bible Tells Me So” and was invited by President Barack Obama to give the invocation at the inaugural ceremonies at the Lincoln Memorial on January 18, 2009.

  1. Um, Bishop Robinson prefers not to be called ‘The Gay Bishop‘. I mean really, that sounds like the title of some odd Gilbert and Sullivan effort. He is the Bishop of New Hampshire.

    I have had the pleasure of spending a short period of time with him and he is absolutely charming, self effacing and witty.
