☞ DWELL: 145 West 131st Street Brownstone

The formerly church-owned brownstone at 145 West 131st Street (between ACP/7th and Lenox) was on the market for around six months before it was sold in March of this year.  Apparently the building was a 3-family with the parlor floor used for church services but the 16 foot wide building had been shut down for some time.  We had looked at this one in the past and the interior had more than enough detail but it was still a major renovation job.  After walking by the building this month, it was obvious that the new owners were stripping the facade's layers of paint so we had to look at the selling price of the fixer-upper in Central Harlem.  Originally asking for $699K, it now looks like the brownstone was finally sold for $600K when all the bids finally came in.  This is a nice enough block but there are a couple of shabby buildings still left.
