☞ EAT: Society Cafe Finally Revealed

Construction is always a tough phase for any building and businesses often suffer the most.  Society Cafe has been hidden under a major sidewalk shed for the past couple of years and they have luckily survived even though receiving less street exposure.  Construction or no construction, this coffee spot at the corner of FDB/8th Avenue and 114th Street has one of the most downtown feeling interiors in Harlem and this is probably why it always seems to be busy with people hanging out at all hours . The formerly stalled Gateway Condos had just removed all the scaffolding up top this past September but it wasn't until recently that the overhead sheds came down that once concealed the storefronts: LINK.

  1. Society and Bier get the vibe right. Let's hope that cafe/restaurant/bar owners yet to come follow their lead.

  2. I like Society, but I still can't figure out why they haven't expanded their menu. For Pete's sake, get a Panini machine and makes all type of sandwiches. Matter of fact, get two or three. Make some really cool sandwiches or even basic ones. (e.g. mozzarella, basil and pesto) I am sure they will quickly find there revenue increasing. It's truly a struggle to find something to eat in there so please help me and i'll help you.
