☞ SHOP: Maybe January for Lenox Supermarket?

The Lenox condos a 129th Street and Lenox Avenue have been transitioning a defunct luxury car dealership to a supermarket this fall and there has been some signs of activity on the site. Most of the windows have had brown paper up for the past couple of months and we just noticed a new tarp hanging out front announcing Pioneer supermarket's arrival.  There's a bit of bright produce graphics also on the side of the building but that's really all that can be seen on the outside. Our post back in August mentioned a November opening date but that deadline seems to have passed.  December is almost over so we are speculating sometimes in January might be a good guess for the arrival of the brand new market in Central Harlem.

  1. I live in this building and can say that they have definitely been working day and night in the commercial space. previously, they announced early spring as the target for opening, but with the sudden increase in work activity, i think they are trying for January. We recently saw them putting shelves in...so that seems like they are pretty far along.

  4. D- yes we are pretty happy here, the apartments are really large. We lived 10 blocks south of here before buying in The Lenox and hope all of the positive changes continue uptown. I love Harlem and want to see it continue to blossom.

  5. And having a basketball hall of famer, (Walt Frazier) right across the street from The Lenox can't hurt!

    Enjoy!

  7. We've lived in the Lenox since it opened and just love the building, its people and the neighborhood. We're also glad that our building will now provide an amenity that the whole neighborhood can use. And yes, it's nice to have Walt Frazier across the street. Anxious to see what he does with his terrace. He supposedly really likes gardening.
