☞ PROTECT: MMPHD Extension Review at CB10

Tuesday January 11th at 6:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Art Gallery at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building, 163 West 125th Street. The Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association will present a proposal for the Mount Morris Park Historic District extension at the Community Board 10 Landmarks Committee meeting next Tuesday.  After recently being recognized by the Historic District Council, the proposed blocks that largely encompasses the areas between Lenox and ACP/7th now have a strong chance of getting protected if enough people show up and voice their support at this subcommittee meeting.  If all goes well, usually a formal vote has to be scheduled at a later date and then a final general community board meeting vote will eventually be calendared (where all committees are on hand).  If all goes through at the final general board meeting than the proposal eventually goes through the New York Landmarks Commission.

  1. Sounds like things are moving in the right direction. One question though. I have been considering getting roof rights from the other tenants to put in a roof deck on our brownstone. We sit right inside the proposed extension of the historic district. Will this a) reduce any potential value of roof rights? b) make it more difficult to get future deck plans approved?

    Thanks.
