☞ REVIVE: The Glass Spire Almost at Top

We received an unconfirmed tip in the past that the 60,000 square foot development at 1635 Lexington Avenue (just north of 103rd Street) might eventually be called the Lexington Hill but we prefer the original name of the Glass Spire which currently has a Streeteasy page: LINK.  The 8-story, 42-unit building has been under construction since early summer 2010, will reportedly go condo and has a supermarket planned for the ground floor.  Based on the most recent photo taken this weekend, the development has almost topped off since all floors are there and one can start to see the likeness to the original sketch. The most interesting part will be the balconies which are encased in the glass spire itself but that pièce de résistance will probably be the last design detail going up. It's not the slightest bit contextual but will be quite a site once finished.  Check out more on the Lexington Hill report in our past post: LINK
