☞ DWELL: 371-373 Manhattan Ave in Contract

In the middle of January, the former church at 317-373 Manhattan Avenue went even further down in pricing and it seems like the asking of $1.65 million finally got a bid.  Initially at $2 million, the property just south of 116th Street consisted of two combined townhouses (or lots) that had been made into one house of worship.  A mosque on FDB had initially tried to purchase this property but the deal fell through in 2010.  The building has been in contract three weeks now and will probably take a little more time to close if all goes well. This location is just a block over from Morningside Park to the west and the shops on FDB to the east.  The subway is also only two blocks away so it will be interesting to see what ends up happening to building.

  1. Interesting... I wonder if the mosque was able to get its act together and close the deal?

Is the property zoned for religious use in some way, or would any willing buyer and commercial tenant do?

  2. The mosque is not the person in contract.
That is the deal that fell through in 2010.
