Wednesday, May 11th, 7:00 PM, Battle of the Big Bands at the Alhambra Ballroom, 2116 ACP/7th Avenue and 126th Street. George Gee Swing Orchestra and the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra battle it out at The Alhambra which opened in 1926, and played host to legendary performers such as Bessie Smith, Jelly Roll Morton, Frankie Manning and a singing waitress named Billie Holiday.  This event will also showcase a swing dance floor with a cash prize rewarded for best dancers. $10 Tickets; Cash Bar & Food Available: LINK

Wednesday, May 11th, 7:00 PM, Blazing Tongues: The Singers & Writers of Lenox Lounge, Lenox Lounge, 288 Lenox Avenue at 124th Street.  Harlem's iconic Art Deco Lounge will feature the music and words of Dinah Washington and James Baldwin with Marcelle Davies-Lashley and Carl Hancock Rux. No cover but two drink minimum requested: LINK

Wednesday, May 11th, Sets at 8:30 PM, 10:00 PM, 11:30 PM, Jerry Weldon/John Tendy Quartet at Showman's, 375 West 125th Street and Morningside Avenue. Jerry Weldon, a tenor saxophonist and and featured soloist of the Harry Connick Jr. Orchestraand John Tendy, tenor saxophonist, jazz producer and founder of the Index Jazz record label, bring their quartet to Showman’s for hard-swinging, improvisational fun.
