☞ DWELL: 238 West 123rd Street Sold in June

The single family, 4-story brownstone at 238 West 123rd Street (far right of photo) sold last month after being on the market since February. This building apparently was gut renovated in the complete white wall fashion sans original details but the location is just a block away from the lower FDB corridor and a short walk to the A,B,C,D express trains on 125th.  On the down side, the property is a narrow 13.8 foot wide, around 2,283 square foot in total and has an empty lot next door. An initial asking price of $1.295 million was set up months ago and the townhouse eventually sold for exactly just that according to public records.

  1. The adjoining empty lot is tiny, maybe even narrower than this house itself. I'd actually be happy having such a small empty lot next door--you could punch out lot-line windows and be pretty much guaranteed that no new development will come in and block them. The only thing that lot is good for is a community garden.

  3. anyone know what ever happened to that large section 8 development planned for across the street?

If that is no longer happening, this looks like a great deal.
