☞ DWELL: Checking up on Harlem Sol Condos

The twin developments called Harlem Sol at 121 and 123 West 131st Street (between Lenox and ACP/7th) have contrasting aesthetics so is one doing better than the other since they opened last fall? Both buildings have pinkish stucco on them but one is a modern tower of sorts and the other is a classic brownstone. More interior photos and selling update after the jump.

The top photo shows the modern Harlem Sol 123 interior and it turns out that the building is doing better than the townhouse condos with the details on the inside.  According to Streeteasy, 2 units at the contemporary abode are in contract within the mid $500 per square foot range while the brownstone building currently does not have any interest in its units: LINK.  The block is intact enough (even though some brownstones are in shabbier shape than others) but this one still appears to be a slow sell.  www.HarlemSol.com

  1. Ack. That looks like the typical Brooklyn cheap new condo building. Imitation stucco and value balconies.

  2. The "modern tower" is something you'd find along the BQE. It does not fit into that neighborhood. If I was the architect/developer, I'd be mortified if I were you.
