☞ DWELL: 2007 5th Avenue Townhouse

OPEN HOUSE: Sunday, October 23rd, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM.  The townhouse at 2007 5th Avenue is just right above Marcus Garvey Park and has only been on the market for the past month.  From the interior photos of the home just located below 125th Street, it appears that the building was gut renovated  with higher end finishes.  More images of the renovations after the jump.

This 18-foot-wide building probably has a better example of higher end finishes mixed with minimal original details, exposed bricks and a modern loft aesthetic.  The asking price is initially set at $1.97 million for the 3-family building with an owner's duplex. As far as the location goes, the townhouse is next to 125th Street, a major park and one avenue away from the express trains over at Lenox.  More details on Streeteasy: LINK

  3. According to the broker listing, the price reflects a recent increase of $120K - a bullish sign for the brownstone market.

  4. Wood strikes me as a poor choice for a bathroom.

  5. No Sanou's Mum.... It is so warm and stylish ! You just have to mop up any water left on the floor.

    I adore it !

  8. What makes this a better example of higher end finishes?
Those are standard out of the box cabinets. The refrigerator sticks out 6 inches to far and is black on the side. They clearly did not use and professional design services as the kitchen layout is terrible and is missing a back splash. The 5 inch splash guard is suitable for a bathroom not a kitchen. No crown, Cheap ceiling lights, not even a mantel. The bathroom has builders grade tile, builders grade medicine cabinets that stick out, a plastic tub, and no over head lighting except for puck lights. This is clearly a builders special. For Manhattan this place is beautiful, and probably nicer then most peoples homes, but it is certainly not higher end.
The key to wood in the bathroom is ventilation.
