☞ DWELL: 218 Lenox Sold for Asking Price

There has been more action at the Mount Morris Park Historic District section of Lenox Avenue this past few weeks and the current sale of one of the townhouses comes along with some controversy. Some might remember that the landmark,  21 foot wide, 3-family corner corner building went into contract relatively quickly this past July in a reported all-cash deal. According to today's Wall Street Journal, the initial asking price of $1.75 million sold the 4,804-square-foot-house to a member of Durst family who happen to be famous in the real-estate business.  A couple more details in the feature links a few eyebrow-raising legal cases that the new property owner has had in the past which are also notable for other reasons : LINK

  1. well, the WSJ printed a rather de-sensationalised version of the Durst tale. Rather left out the cutting up of a body and then trying to pass as a woman.

Meanwhile I noticed just the other day that the “for sale” banner is still up.

  4. Oh, Msciara, I have no dirt—this didn’t take place in Harlem. Wife went missing in Westchester, her best friend out in California and he (allegedly) chopped up the body where—Oklahoma? Somesuch place. Google the guy.
