☞ EAT: What's Up with Native?

A Bespoke reader mentioned that Native on the corner of West 118th and Lenox had been shut down for some time.  Walking by the eatery this past week, we noticed that the chairs were still stacked out front and workers were busy inside but no apparent business was at hand. Does anyone have an update on Native?

  3. What is up with Lower Harlem .....I don't know .. it just feels overhyped and there really is not a critical mass of people who live up there to patronage the stores. Walked down FDB tonight , a beautiful night, and the restaurants were empty ... Will Harlem ever really make it?

  4. They had a closed by Board of Health sign posted on the windows 2 weeks ago. Glad they have re-opened. Wonder if the "Grade Pending" designation they had for many months has been finally been addressed.

  5. Mike212, I think lower Lenox arrived long ago, but not in the sense of the overflowing bars of the East Village, but as the quiet elegant brownstone side streets that has recapture the grace of the century old town houses like no other part of Manhattan. This is largely due to the efforts of the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association. I thing a nice coffee shop is in order.
