Another tipped received informed us that a dumpster was sitting outside of 533 Manhattan Avenue yesterday and that the shell was being gutted. The lower photo shows that this is actually happening and confirms that the brownstone has sold. This 15-foot-wide, single-family building went up on the market for $599K in 2010 and increased in price to $649K in early 2011. Public records now show that the brownstone closed for $630K last month and apparently all the paperwork is in order to have it renovated. As far as location is concerned, the area by West 123rd Street at Manhattan Avenue is only a block away from the Morningside Park, just a short walk to express trains, 125th Street and the bustling FDB corridor. If one would have to pick a particular problem with this location, it would have to be the questionable empty lot next door which was also up for sale in the past.
