☞ SHOP: Vintage Signage on 147th Revealed

A recently vacated storefront at the corner of 147th Street and Broadway had some severely modern signage removed in the past week and a nice vintage sign has now been revealed.  This location was the Jocelyn liquor store but apparently it was George's several decades ago. Many establishments that are opening downtown have kept the original vintage signs such as this one on their storefronts even though the business have switched over.  This would be a great spot for a diner or even a wine bar if the new owners could replicate a retro aesthetic within the interior.  Does anyone have details on what will happen to the space or if it is available?

  1. I have heard it is likely becoming a juice/smoothie bar

  2. I live right across from it, it was a liquor store for more than 2 decades, then a short-lived cell phone store until recently. I would love to see a diner in the neighborhood but I think this place is too small for a diner. A great pizza shop would be ideal.

  3. They should keep vintage signing. The horrible arrival of these scrolling obnoxious lite brite signs all over the neighborhood is ruining Harlem. These signs should be banned. Period.

  4. I saw a sign on the door that said it was going to be a juice bar. I agree about keeping the vintage sign! HATE the lite brite signs.
