We are always looking out for interesting architectural details in the neighborhood and came across these green lions on West 148th Street. The prewar building was a recent condo conversion that apparently sold out and the developers did a great job in restoring the details. Lions appear to be a popular motif in Harlem but we have also found couple of griffins in the past:
