☞ EAT: Black History Inspired at Red Rooster

In celebration of  Black History Month at Red Rooster Harlem, Chef Marcus Samuelsson has created a special prix-fixe menu that is inspired by great African American culinary legends Leah Chase, Sylvia Wood, Patrick Clarke and Edna Lewis. The menu honors these figures who helped mold American cuisine and who have been major influences on Marcus and generations of aspiring chefs.

The Celebrating Black History Month menu is available at both Red Rooster Harlem at 310 Lenox Avenue and Ginny's Supper Club (which is located underneath Red Rooster) during dinner service.

This prix fixe menu for $47 starts with a Shrimp Gumbo featuring andouille sausage, dirty Rice and fried Okra. Entrée include Smothered Chicken with melted pepper and onions, warm potato salad or Cider-Glazed Pork Chop with mustard barbecue pork shoulder, sweet potato hash, collards and apple sauce. Dessert is also included and a Three-Layer Carrot Cake with pineapple carrot sorbet will be served up: RedRoosterHarlem.com
