☞ QUESTION: Solar Panels for Brownstones?

More a more brownstone renovations in the neighborhood are interested in solar power.  A Bespoke reader wanted to know if there were any recommended contractors out there?

  1. Here is a link that has been a huge help in the solar process in NYC. Still researching mine, as we don't close on our townhouse until 5August, but solar is definitely in our future;

  2. We installed solar panels on our brownstone on 120th street, last year. We used a company called Mercury Solar (1-877-6 GETSUN). They were fantastic; helping us secure the state, city and federal rebates, and organized an interest-free loan for the cost of the system for one year; long enough for the tax rebates to kick in.
    Our system went on the grid in mid March, and our electrical bills have dropped significantly.
    I highly recommend Mercury Solar. The system is an assest to our property, and we will have a ROI within just 2-3 years, not including the enhancement value to our property from day one. Our are installed on a pergola, which now doubles as a nice shade feature on our roof!
