The brown paper covering up the windows at the former Lenox Lounge space was torn open in the past week or so and a passerby submitted a photo of the activity inside. It appears that even more demolition of the iconic jazz is at hand and thus some progress for 2014. All of the walls and ceilings have all been removed to the joist and rafters at this point so things just may be coming together for the legendary location. Notable restauranteur Richard Notar is expected to open the new incarnation of Lenox Lounge by January and that date has come and gone:

I hope it's ready by the end of the year (or, dare I say it, perhaps even this fall?). I live a few blocks a way and would love to go here for a drink and some music on the weekends. Either way, just glad to know it's coming to the neighborhood.
