INTRODUCING: PERKINS ARRIVING ON EAST 125TH

A Perkins just set up signage over at the new affordable housing complex at 3rd Avenue and East 125th Street.  The corner ground floor retail space has been empty since the building finished up a couple of years ago and now the national chain that is more of a direct competition to Harlem's Applebee's or IHOPs has arrived.  This section of East Harlem is pretty empty so anything here might be worth it at this point in time until that bigger complex develops across the street: LINK

  1. What an uninteresting addition. Support the local risk takers, Harlem!

  2. Gross. Is it a native NYer thing to crave these gross chain eateries? lol I have been here for 7 years and the only chain place I ever really go to is Chipotle!

  3. Harlem is not an isolated place in Manhattan.. Every other neighborhood can have chains... Harlem should not be any different... Tired of having to travel to other neighborhoods to get what everyone else has, when there is plenty of space to have it right here..

  4. I'm not wild about having yet another chain restaurant line 125th, but 125th and 3rd can definitely use some commercial love. I probably won't ever eat there, but if it adds jobs and helps improve the neighborhood, then great.
