RENT: NO. 12 LANGSTON HUGHES PLACE

Brokers tend to not fully romance the space they are trying to feature and No. 12 East 127th Street is a good example. This is actually the block Langston Hughes lived on for the last decades of his life and his brownstone is a couple of doors down. The small, charming studio going for $1,400 (utilities included!) looks great within but we would also point out the location's amazing pedigree since the honorific for the notable street is also Langston Hughes Place.
Check out those windows and the fireplace! Everything else is renter's grade but this section of East Harlem is really more like some forgotten landmark district just right off of Fifth Avenue. More recently artist Ugo Rondinone and actor Neil Patrick Harris have moved in nearby. Express trains are just an avenue away on Lenox along with all the great shops and the future Whole Foods under construction: LINK
