DWELL: LACK OF RESTORATION ON WEST 113TH

The townhouses on West 113th Street between FDB and Mornignside Park seem to constantly have alterations by new owners who go the cheaper route and not restore the building's facade to their original state.  Record breaking homes further up in the low 120s have mostly intact blocks which higher-end buyers tend to go for.  With that said, Number 320 West 113th Street appears to have been half dismantled and a new condo planned for the spot appears to now be in contract for the asking of $2.9 million.  Check out the final design after the jump.
Some of the other conversions by developers on existing brownstone sites at least use some of the base architecture in the design but it looks like this one will completely change the facade into a brick structure.  As one can see from the rendering, the other surrounding townhouses have not done much better as far as restorations efforts are concerned.  More details on Number 320 can be found on Streeteasy: LINK
