REMEMBER: MUGLER'S IRONWORKS CIRCA 1908

A photo from 1908 shows the intricate gate by Mugler Ironworks over at the City College on Convent Avenue and West 140th.  Some of the Neo-Gothic campus appears to still be under construction from this vantage point but apparently the main buildings were finished around 1906.  Other section such as the grand Lewisohn Stadium were built later.  Fortunately most of the campus remains intact today but the aforementioned Greek stadium only lasted up until the 1970s: LINK

  1. Pretty sure the first photo is the south gate at 138th Street. In 1908 the original campus was finished, between 138th and 140th. The building on the right of the picture a block away or so is the an orphanage that later became CCNY's Klapper Hall.
