REVIVE: BRITE LITE BARBER SHOP AWNING SALVAGED

On our way to an appointment yesterday, we noticed that the old Brite Lite Barber Shop awning was sitting in front of a brownstone in the neighborhood and wondered what was going on.  Right after taking the above photo, an email had been received from a concerned neighbor and mentioned that the shuttered storefront on Lenox had been dismantled earlier on in the day.  Seeing that this was an essential piece of Harlem history that somebody might want to reuse one day, the sign was thus salvaged and will be placed into storage for the time being.  Those who do not remember the old shop can see what the storefront looked like originally here: LINK

If anyone out there who might be opening a new business and would like to make use of this awning, contact us and we can forward the information to the current caretaker: harlembespoke@gmail.com

  2. Looks as though the barber shop and half of the former soul food takeaway are being combined into one commercial space.
