SHOP: KEEPING THINGS SMALL BATCH & LOCAL

Working with soft launches for startups has been one of the great things about Sugar Hill Market.  Many of the new brands are showing up with great backgrounds in what they do but have now ventured to branch out.  As with Patch pickles and preserves, the owner decided local gardening and produce was a passion so decided to come up with an artisan product which features familiar but unique, seasonal greens.  Pickled Spicy Collards with hot Serrano Peppers will be offered up along with Pickled Asparagus spears with Dill to start things off.  This is part of the whole, local small batch, farm-to-table movement which is just appearing in Harlem and it will be these incubator brands that will eventually change the way we eat in the city.

Make sure to come by and talk to the vendors this Sunday and learn more.  We also hear that spicy pickled collards taste amazing with fresh biscuits which may just be on hand to sample.
