REVIVE: MORE MODERN AT 315 WEST 121ST STREET

Now that most of the larger, abandoned lots in Harlem have been built on or taken, the smaller ones seem to be the next wave for development.  Curbed has the story on the new building proposed for 315 West 121st Street and it actually is one of better looking modern designs that we have seen in the neighborhood.  This type of angular play of form has been happening downtown at more notable sites and is a refreshing change to the rectangular miniature towers with balconies that always usually appears.

Apparently everything is in the planning phase so it is unclear if the building will actually rise between Manhattan and FDB but in our opinion, this would be a game-changer for smaller constructions that go the contemporary route in the neighborhood.  More details can be found on Curbed: LINK

  1. Unfortunate how it's set back from the streetwall. But nice otherwise.
