EAT: PONTY BISTRO DEBUTS AT WEST 139TH STREET

Tonight is the surprise grand opening of La Terenga Ponty Bistro on 7th at the corner of West 139th Street.  This old storefront by Strivers Row has been under construction since this past spring and the wait was all worth it.  We were able to have a quick bite at the soft opening on Sunday and will pretty much say that the new eatery is a game changer for this neglected reach of Central Harlem.  Everything from the classic signage out front, the impeccable decor inside, the Franco-Seneglese cuisine and the service is spot on.  We had the lobster BLT which was generous in size, fresh in quality and had some amazing fries that came along with it.  Our waiter Max was quick and very accommodating which is often not the case for uptown soft openings.  Ponty Bistro will probably be our favorite debut this week but August promises many more new openings in this upper region of Harlem: LINK
