REMEMBER: 7TH AVENUE AND 122ND STREET CIRCA 1905

A photo from 1905 shows a view of 7th Avenue looking east at West 122nd Street.  Everything is still pretty much the same over a century later as can be seen in the lower image taken today.  A cornice is missing from the building at the right, the stairwell has been removed from the one to the left and there are a lot more trees now on this block by the Mount Morris Park Historic District.  Hopefully as the neighborhood improves, more and more of these unofficial landmarks will have accurate restorations in the future and maybe they will stick around for another 100 years or so.

  2. A very elegant streetscape, the entry to the block fortified by these two substantially detailed corner buildings, leading into a street flanked by two facing rows of brownstone stoops.
