SEE: MOUNT MORRIS PARK IN THE KNICK

We were finally able to catch a glimpse of the new series called The Knick which is loosely based on Harlem's Knickbocker Hospital.  Unfortunately, a different building is used for The Knickerbocker and the historic hospital has been relocated downtown on the cable show.  There was a lot of filming in Harlem last fall and we did catch a glimpse of a familiar block in one of the scenes in which a nurse needed to summon one of the doctors from a residence.  The address mentioned was in the West Village but we instantly recognized the Mount Morris Park block of West 121st Street during this clip.  Harlem filming also included the Bailey Mansion earlier on in the year so that landmark building is another famous residence to look out for in future episodes.

  1. The Knick seem to be the Hospital version of the BBC series Copper. The story line is very similar. It basically of how the Irish ran early Manhattan..
