DWELL: 17 WEST 120TH STREET ARRIVES ON MARKET

As far as uptown historic districts go, the north side of West 120th Street just east of Lenox might arguably be the best block in all of Harlem.  Number 17 West 120th Street within the Mount Morris Park Historic District just arrived on the market for the asking price of $3.75 million and is an impressive 20-foot wide townhouse with ornate facade elements.  There are no pictures to be found of the interior at this 3-family home but if the updates are contextual with original details, then this might just be the future record holder in Harlem for a home sale: LINK

  1. Tricky sale... I think there's a few rent controlled apartments in that townhouse?!

  2. I'm looking forward to seeing the inside if pictures surface. Two potential issues I could see: 1) at near 4 million bucks the three family configuration is a negative to most buyers. People who can spend this much may not want to rent out half the space for a couple thousand a month and 2) This stable of townhouse can be very dark given front porch overhang.

  3. If you have $4 million to spend on a home, you want to be a single family home owner, not a landlord sharing the space. I believe a homeowner can remove the tenants if they intend to fully occupy the building.
