EAT: THE BEST PANINI IN HARLEM

We have to admit that a panini is really not the most exciting thing to be invented but we wanted to check out the new sandwiches at Double Dutch by 118th and FDB since a hot lunch is always a good thing in the fall.   Most panini sandwiches we have had in the past tend to just flatten  everything and barely warm up the contents inside.  We had low expectations for this new arrival but were pleasantly surprised.

The difference at DD is that the press that they use has really tight ridges which creates the most crispy  of textures to the excellent sour dough bread on hand.  Everything is heated up to the right temperature and something really good comes together at the end.  The turkey sandwich with cranberry compote that we had earlier in the week had us coming back the next morning to try the Nutella-peanut butter-banana version for breakfast which was equally as amazing for those craving something on the sweeter side.  There are several other combinations available which will surely be amazing so make sure to drop by and check this new arrival out!
