A Bespoke reader mentioned that the steps at PS186 were being demolished and wondered if they will be restored as part of the new design for the residential conversion. Based on renderings previously posted on the plywood out front, we can probably assume that everything will be replaced accordingly. We walked by this block just west of Broadway the night before the above photo was taken and noticed the crumbling steps had been exposed. Not much looked like it was worth saving but this part of the facade is easy to fix since it is not particularly an intricate detail. Check out the final designs in our past post:
