REVIVE: NEW CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY ON 125TH

When the financial market plummeted in a few years ago, the church of Scientology slowed down with plans on expanding in Harlem but now things are apparently picking up speed again.  A rather large building purchased back in 2003 for the cost of a modest brownstone today had been empty for years but now has almost been fully restored.  We walked by 220 East 125th Street this weekend and notice workers out front finishing up the last touches on the fully renovated building.  Check out what everything original looked like in our previous post from 4 years ago: LINK

  1. Just what the neighborhood needs. Another warped belief system to spread among low-income residents.

  2. Nice of them to expand into Harlem. Now go away already!

  3. Another mind control operation who's chasing market share. The churches have nothing new to offer the younger generation under 40 and are failing miserably since their hey day of the civil rights moverment.

  4. This church is co-sponsoring some community outreach work such as the foundation for a drug free world, and some community tutoring outreach. As a NYC public school teacher, personally seeing the daily struggles my kids have, I know for a fact that the program's coming to harlem will in fact add a positive component to the area!
