ARCHITECTURE: 1900 MEETS 1970 AT 113TH STREET

We reported that there will be two new residential towers rising on the grounds of St. John the Divine this past June and now it looks like several levels are rising at this corner of 113th Street in Morningside Heights.  Right now the 5 stories that are on the west end of block really shows off the poured concrete aesthetic popular in the 70s with the backdrop of early 20th century grandeur that is the world largest cathedral.  Curbed has more photos of the site taken a week back or so ago and reports that the two 14-story residential towers are actually a land lease from the church that will have a total of 428 rental units: LINK
