INTRODUCING: HEX TILES AT MESS HALL

The bar known as Mess Hall just north of 118th Street on FDB will have some really great early century details based on what we have seen thus far.  At the entrance, the custom hex tiles stamp the moniker of the establishment which is a detail that was quite common in the early 20th century for dining and drinking establishment. We also had a glimpse of some painted wood paneling at the front of the bar which is a nice upgrade from the ubiquitous exposed brick found in a lot of uptown renovations.  A February opening is the goal here and this might actually happen in the next couple of weeks based on the speed of progress we have seen.  Mess Hall is the sister establishment to Double Dutch Espresso which is just next door so we expect great things from this new business.
