REVIVE: 1047 AMSTERDAM AVENUE RISES

We walked by the corner of 113th Street and Amsterdam yesterday to check out the progress of the new residential towers and things are really happening quickly.  Several levels have currently risen on the site now being referred to as 1047 Amsterdam and the design pretty much looks as retro 1970 as the original rendering. This real estate arrangement by St. John the Divine will help the church maintain its current property but some wonder if the end result will ruin the integrity of one of the city's architectural wonders.   More details on the final plan can be found in our past post: LINK

  1. sorry, but can someone explain to how a private building was allowed to be built so close to a historic landmark, where now the side views are blocked and the whole project is severally compromised.

The church really sold themselves out and New York too on this.
