Who can guess the vantage point of this Harlem bird's eye view taken circa 1943? The corner buildings at the forefront are still standing today but some of the other notable structures have been altered on the right side. How awesome would it be if uptown had a historic trolley district? An updated image will be posted later on in the day.
ANSWER: This is easily 125th Street looking west at 7th Avenue. One of the missing buildings is the Harlem Opera House which was torn down in the 1960s but many like The Victoria and The Apollo still stand today. At the far left is the former Hotel Theresa.
