REMEMBER: THE FIRST BLACK SUPERSTAR

Josephine Baker would have been 109 today and still is as legendary as ever.  The young women whose ascension to fame started in Harlem during the early Renaissance period of the early 20th century only spent a handful of years in New York before moving to Paris in 1925 at the age of 19 for bigger opportunities.  By 1927 Ms. Baker would be the highest paid female performer in the world.
