EAT: LATE 2015 RESTAURANT OPENINGS

There have been some big restaurant openings this year in Harlem already but the last quarter of 2015 promises some additional arrivals to the ever-changing uptown dining scene.   Below are the most notable picks that have had a few delays but should debut by year's end.  There are few more spots in Hamilton Heights that have yet to be even named that did not make the list so more will definitely be happening in the coming months.

Oso was originally set to open on Amsterdam by 140th Street in Hamilton Heights this summer but the space looks like it will probably be ready by sometimes in December from what we can see thus far.  The Mezcal and Mexican hot spot will be the one to watch out for since gameshow host Alex Trebek's son Matthew will be heading up the restaurant: LINK

The Row House on FDB at the corner of 115th Street is an ambitious New American restaurant on the South Harlem commercial corridor.  Partners from Harlem Tavern are behind this venture but diners should expect a more classic ambiance with a focus on better offerings.  Based on the current progress of the eatery, The Row House looks like it will open by November:  LINK

Vino Sushi in the Mount Morris Park Historic District on Lenox at the corner of 119th Street is another  dining destination that is set to finish up in the next handful of weeks.  The founder of Brother Jimmy's Barbecue is behind this one so there will definitely be something different brought to the Harlem dining scene when the sushi-ha opens: LINK

Sottocasa Pizzaria has a Boerum Hill Brooklyn branch already and will be opening within a brownstone on Lenox by 121st Street in the Mount Morris Park Historic District.  This boutique pie parlor is known for their wood oven Neapolitan style pizza and could eventually be the best pizza spot in Harlem when it opens.  Public notices are up at the space but not much action has been going on yet so this one might open sometimes later in the winter: LINK

Island Burger looks totally ready to open on Broadway just a couple of blocks south of 125th Street but has not posted any opening dates yet.  The Manhattanville location will be the third one and the eatery is especially known for setting up in Hell's Kitchen several years ago: LINK

Eso located further up in the northern borders of Harlem by 154th Street and FDB appears ready for business but for some reason does not really have a social media presence announcing its arrival.  From what little we have seen so far, the focus at the bar will be on crafted burgers: LINK
