ARCHITECTURE: 2338 2ND AVENUE

An old tenement building at the corner of East 120th on 2nd Avenue apparently had been sold a couple of years back, demolished and now a new residential tower will arrive at this East Harlem location.  The side street view faces a massive public housing site so the new construction looks a little more ambitious than usual to balance out the block.  Check out a closeup of the rendering after the jump.
Based on the permits approved thus far,  9 stories will be arriving at this address with commercial space on the ground level. Also revealed is that 30 apartments will debut at this corner of East Harlem but it is unclear if this will be a rental or condo complex.  This is probably all in anticipation of the 2nd Avenue subway extension from 96th Street to 125th Street but that just might not be happening anything soon: LINK
