ARCHITECTURE: SIDING AT HARLEM WHOLE FOODS

The glass has been going up at the Harlem Whole Foods building at the corner of 125th and Lenox and now some of the facade siding is currently being installed.  We walked by this block just on the northern edges of the Mount Morris Park Historic District today and noticed that the multi-color grey panels have finally made an appearance.  One of the other great details about this particular corner is that the express subway stop is right in front of the address so shoppers from all over can arrive easily at this major uptown commercial hub.

Those who would rather drive should probably just go to Fairway on west side or Target in East Harlem where garages or parking lots are available.  Those other parking layouts make sense since they are not in an accessible part of the city but Lenox is very central so having the standard city commercial space plan makes sense here.  Read more about the other anchor tenants at this location and see a final rendering in our past post: LINK

  1. That looks a lot better than the rendering and a nice juxtaposition to some of its surrounding neighbors. There was a method to the madness. Ideally, someone needs to get Lennox Lounge rolling, we need our old school establishments, come on
