REMEMBER: RIVERSIDE DRIVE WINTER 1907

An illustration from 1907 shows how winters used to look over by Riverside Drive.  This piece was titled Where Motor isn't King and probably refers to the fact that the main streets were probably taken over by the new mode of transportation while the old ways still held strong on the more wild west side. The High-Wheel Motor Buggy would have been the model on the road then but the traditional mode of transportation probably worked much better on snow covered back roads.
