REVIVE: FACADE RESTORED AT CARIBBEAN CENTER

The new $3.5 million Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute was covered with scaffolding for most of last year but now the facade has finally been restored.  This adaptive reuse building on 125th Street by Lexington Avenue used to be the main firehouse for the east side of Harlem's commercial corridor but had been shuttered for quite some time.  After 4 long years of planning, construction finally started in back in May 2015 and now it looks like a Spring opening might just be around the corner.  More details on the unique cultural center can be found in our past post: LINK
