REMEMBER: HARLEM EATUP! FOOD FESTIVAL 2016

The final two days of Harlem Eatup! this past weekend focused on the big foodie festival at Mornngside Park where almost every great restaurant in Harlem was serving small bites to the public.  Tickets for the event included unlimited food and drinks for the entire day and we could not capture enough photos of the amazing arrangements presented at each area.  There were also cooking demonstrations from some of the city's top chefs in the free public stage tent and corporate sponsor Coca-Cola gave out complimentary beverages.  Our favorite part was the party tent which served up some great cocktails throughout the afternoon and really had an electric atmosphere.  Those who paid a little more attention might have recognized more than a few celebrities walking around enjoying the offerings of the day.

First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray tasted some of the amazing dishes on hand and was greeted personally by Chef Marcus Samuelsson who seemed to be everywhere at once doing presentations or making drinks for guests.  Melba Wilson of Melba's happily entertained the crowds while serving up tasty bites and Karl Franz of 67 Orange Street mixed up some of those famous cocktails.  Neil Patrick Harris also arrived early on in the day and spent much of the afternoon with his husband and kids who pretty much ended up having a picnic on the lawn while visitors passed by.  We did not get to cover this half of the festival last year and really were impressed with such a phenomenal experience.  Those who missed out should mark their calendars for the next time around in 2015 since this is definitely one of the uptown must-see events during the course of the year.
