ARCHITECTURE: PASSIVE BUILDING FACADE REVEALED

It was only last March that the ambitious passive building on 153rd Street broke ground and construction has been really make some progress in the past few months. We walked by this corner of Hamilton Heights this morning and noticed that the facade has finally finished up.
There used to be a rather large empty lot at 542 West 153rd Street but now Harlem first fully energy efficient will be opening its doors soon in the coming months just east of Broadway.  When everything finishes up, there will be 40 apartments available with view of historic Trinity Cemetery which is across the street.  Being a fully green building along with also having some design merit as far as architecture goes is quite an achievement and hopefully more builders will go this route when large parcels are being constructed on in the future.  Check out the original rendering in our past post: LINK
