DRINK: HAPPY HOUR AT CLAY

We were able to make over to Clay at the corner of 123rd Street on Manhattan Avenue for the new happy hour service from 5:30PM to 7:00PM Tuesdays through Fridays and had one of the specialty cocktails.  The new bartender not only does sparkling, crafted concoctions for the early evening but is also known for a sort of origami garnish that really makes all of the drinks pop.  Small plates such as the locally sourced chicken liver with fig preserve and rye from Hot Bread Kitchen were a great starter paired with the impeccable wagyu beef tartare that was crowned with a garnish of crispy shallots.  Our appetizer sampling was so amazing that we ended up dining in later on but those who want to check out the offerings at this new eatery should head over early and sit at the bar to enjoy the drink specials.  More on Clay can be found in our past post: LINK
