ARCHITECTURE: ALHAMBRA FACADE RESTORATION

Harlem Bespoke: Scaffolding has now gone up at the former Alhambra Ballroom at 2108 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard by 126th Street and we did a little research to see what is going on at the historic site.  Based on DOB permits posted online, a full facade fix-up is underway but it is unclear if a cornice restoration will come about.  A developer purchased the site a couple of years ago for $22 million and it probably would bode well to restore everything accurately for curb appeal sake.   There is reportedly over 60,000 square foot available for lease and polishing things up a bit will surely help score an anchor tenant in the future.  More on the Alhambra can be found in our past post: LINK
